Halloween Horror Nights XXI - Part Three

Paul and I registered for a behind-the-scenes look at three of the event's haunted houses - Winter's Night, Nevermore: The Madness of Poe, and The Forsaken. Alongside the lights-on tours, we were also provided with plenty of trivia and information about each haunted house.

The opening scene for Winter's Night, easily my favorite haunted house

Accompanying the artificial snow over everything was a sub-freezing temperature (or at least what felt like one) inside the building.

There were two of these angel statues that faced one another, one artificial and the other a performer in disguise.

This narrow passageway included an overhanging casket, which you initially don't think anything of...

...until you pass right below it and a performer scares you from above.

Later in the maze is this impressive diorama that utilizes forced perspective, creating a whole cemetery landscape

There were real vines all over this and other haunted houses. They came from the former Hard Rock Cafe, which was under demolition at the time of our visit.

Winter's Night also took a quick peak into a collection of catacombs, filled from floor to ceiling with bones.

Winter's Night's finale consisted of multiple mannequins and performers mixed together, leaving you to guess what was real and what was fake.

Exiting the freezing sound stage and returning to outside made my camera lens fog up instantly, and it remained fogged-up until we were halfway across the park.

Another behind-the-scenes tour of a haunted house next.
